From Ceremony to Service: One Month of Supporting the Moldovan Diaspora

Exactly One Month Later

Exactly one month after the inauguration of the first Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in the United Kingdom, the focus has already shifted from ceremony to service.

The inauguration marked an important diplomatic milestone.

However, the real measure of success lies in the practical difference the Honorary Consulate can make to the lives of Moldovan citizens, businesses and communities across the North West of England.

During this first month, I have already received requests from members of the Moldovan diaspora seeking legal representation.

Those enquiries have reinforced something I have long believed.

Our community needs more than representation.

It also needs access to trusted professional support.

That is why one of my priorities is to help create practical pathways to experienced professional services for Moldovan citizens living and working throughout the United Kingdom.

Building a Trusted Professional Network

As Honorary Consul of the Republic of Moldova in Manchester and CEO of Moldovan Diaspora Business Alliance Ltd, I recently met with Stuart Cartwright, Partner at JMW Solicitors, to discuss how the firm can support members of the Moldovan diaspora with legal advice across a wide range of practice areas.

Our discussions focused on identifying practical ways in which JMW Solicitors, together with its Lawshare network, could assist individuals, families and businesses whenever legal support is required.
